Become A Travel Agent

Becoming a Travel Agent

There are several steps to becoming an online travel agent.

Choosing A Host Travel Agency
As an Iindependent Travel Agent, you will typically select a host agency. This host agency will be the agency which handles the travel commissions that you earn from your client bookings. Selecting a qualified host agency is critical to your success.

The Independent Contractor Relationship
As an Independent Travel Agent, your relationship with the Host Agency will be that of an Independent Contractor. Independent Contractors are not employees. The Host Agency is responsible to pay your your travel commission earnings, but you as the home based travel agent are responsible for your own accounting, business fees, licenses and most importantly personal taxes.
